25 Days Of Christmas_Day 19

It is fitting that today’s post is about snow considering it is snowing outside.  I love the snow and especially any snow related activities.  I remember growing up and just getting pounded with snow each year and having no school.

So I am curious, what are some of your snow memories?  Do you like the snow?  Any snow related accidents?  What is the most fun thing you have done in the snow?

1970′s somethin’ – Chicago – HUGE, I mean HUGE snow storm. It was awesome! I’m not kidding but it must have been about 4+ feet of snow. My brothers and I made paths, tunnels and forts. It was awesome! We could touch icicles from our neighbors 2nd story gutters by climbing onto a snow mound that the blizzardly winds blew in the corner of the yard. It was awesome!
And of course, before moving here and when my kids were young – they had a lot of fun in their own forts and snowball fights back in Chicago.
This snowfall brings back those fun memories!

When I little, I LOVED snow!!!!!!! Could not understand why anyone wouldn’t. My younger brother, sister & I would sled down our front embankment on anything we could get our hands on…wooden sled, flexible plastic sled, disc, cardbaord…actually a large opened cardboard was a lot of fun for the slippery factor. We would build snowmen & make snow angels, snowball fights, walls of snow balls for the fight for protection not to mention snow forts.

Then one day, I grew up & now I hate snow…lol! It was a whole lot of fun as a kid though!!!

THat is a tremendous amount of snow. I know of guys who got kicked out of college because they used the trays for food as sleds. Love the snow…so many memories.
