Tattered Leadership

Leadership can be a lonely place.  It can feel like a place where people don’t get where your going, what your doing or what your passionate about.  Leadership can feel like a tattered chair.  A place where you sit alone and feel like things are falling apart all the while deep down inside of you there is this burning passion that you know where you or the organization needs to go.  Sometimes in leadership you feel as if you will never get to where you need to be because there are so many obstacles in your way, however, those obstacles that are in your way are opportunities for you to navigate your team, organization and yourself through. You have been called to lead.  It is your responsibility to trust God and the team that is around you and take God sized risks.  There are times when you will fail but when you do fail forward.  Leadership is so much more than getting people to follow you, its about getting people to buy into and own a vision.  It’s about getting people to realize their own potential.  It’s about putting people in places that takes them out of their comfort zone and puts them into a zone to be successful not only for themselves but for the team.

I love leadership but I also realize that there is a responsibility that comes with leading.  There is an amount of character that comes with leadership. I believe there are leaders everywhere but they are not always leading in the right direction.  I am thankful for those who have invested in me and have stood by me even when I have led in a way I’m not proud of.  If your interested in developing yourself as a leader and are interested in a coaching network to be mentored.  I highly recommend Backstage Leadership.

You don’t need to feel or stay tattered but you can use it as an opportunity to reupholster, reshape and redefine the direction and mission God has placed in your heart.
