That's great Betty...good insight. Stubbornness, pride and independence are something I think that trip everybody up from time to time. It's been a while since I have had a kitten reference.

Great topic that hits home for me as well. I hang on to hope & faith, as well as past experiences knowing that it is temporary. TOO often, I find myself trying to get myself out of it even in the midst of trying to give it to God. Then a breakthrough FINALLY happens, but how long it takes me is based on my stubborness, pride & independence. Those 3 things run me into trouble far more often then I like to admit!

Of course, we know you are in a funk if a kitten makes you cry!

Chuck that is great and I really appreciate your vulnerability. Especially doing it publicly. Go to Him is such a huge statement and possibly most peoples weakest process. We always want to fix it ourselves and then we go deeper and if we only turn to him it would pull us out of the funk. It's grabbing the stick that is God while were in the midst of quicksand struggling and going deeper.

"Faith your way through it" is great. I think that sometimes we have to stop and realize that it is not always about us. But that is really hard when your in the midst of it. Thanks Nate, Elijah is a great example, good reminder.

hah, funny you should make this thread. A resounding YES! The past 2 weeks have been a spiritual funk. Its been a couple of weeks since I felt that "joy" which could only come from Him. Sure I went through the motions of doing what believers do but I somewhat felt empty. I don't know why???

Yesterday at work I plugged in my iPod and decided against listening to my secular stuff. Turned on the shuffle and "Oh Praise Him" was the first song that came through the speakers. It hit me as I was being like the guy in this particular video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IpVsF4W8V2Y

At first the guy in this video was reluctant to openly give God the praise he so deserves. As the video goes on he starts to think of the words being sung and slowly starts giving all the worlds distractions and personal troubles over to Him. By the end of the video he is praising Jesus openly and thanking Him for all He has done.

That is exactly what happened to me during those 4 minutes. I am not real keen on being vulnerable publicly as I type this however it struck a cord. All He wants is for me to go to Him. Not to depend on the world or anything else. But for 2 weeks my pride stood in the way. His timing in dealing with these "funks" is amazing. How the burden is light now. I wish the world knew what I know.

Great topic, Ryan. The cheap answer is to faith your way thru it but what does that really mean? All I know is that the Bible has a great example of this with Elijah. God took care of him and he'll take care of us as well.
