In The Dash- Written Recaps

When I first started to date my wife I used to stay up late at night coming up with witty poetry and I would write long letters to her.  During the engagement those letters slowed down, and once we were married the letters stopped all together.

The letters and creativity with my words ended and the business of life, demands of children and my own personal laziness robbed my wife of the verbal connection on paper that she desired.

With 30 days left to live I would write letters to my wife for every year I missed and recap the moments that I had missed up till that point and pen it so it would remind her of our life together and remind her that even though I missed those opportunities then, they still mean the world to me now.

Good post bro…and good reminder. It’s crazy how much energy and creativity we can bring to work, ministry, etc and then neglect our own family. Thanks for the encouragement.

Andy, thanks. Sadly most of these thoughts are a result of my failures. Hopefully I will learn and they will lead to future successes.
