  • Eric came in on Saturday after a 17 hour day including a 7 hour taxi drive from Syracuse.
  • Church was canceled on Sunday due to 2ft of snow.
  • 3 Christmas experiences in 2 days.
  • Close to 800 people in attendance.
  • About 24 people crossed over from death to life.
  • “That Night” was a huge success…people saw Jesus as more than just a baby.
  • A relationship with God was enabled because of that night.
  • God uses the ordinary to the extrodinary.
  • I am on a 5 day “cat hatred” sabbatical…to be honest it is actually tough.
  • We are speaking next week on, Leaving Your Mark.
  • Salome is speaking on the 10th of January.
  • Eric begins his “full time” reign on the 17th with a series called…BRICKS.  (I believe)
  • Set design was ridiculous.  Dan McInnes and Ben Jones were awesome at that.
  • Jeff Ream and the praise band did a great job…a lot of stuff to learn and people saw church differently because of them.
  • Eric did a great job on his talks…people walked out saying he was so funny.
  • Volunteers were amazing getting everything set up and torn down.
  • 74% of our people serve in an area of the church…wow!
  • The staff has been stretched and is better because of it.
  • I believe that God is up to something here…and I believe God is reigniting the passion in the local church all over the United States.
  • Just in the churches that I watch…thousands of people put their trust in Him.

Weekend Wrap Up

If you missed this weekend you missed out on one of the most exciting weekends at Fellowship Church in a long time.

Friday Night- Kid Kollage, Dan & Kristi do and incredible job reaching kids and their families.  A lot of fun for the whole family.  You must check this out on the first Friday of each month.

Saturday Morning- Men of Ice, Lee White does a great job of helping men get deeper together.

Saturday Night- UNITED and we had a good turnout.  Lots of guests and we had 9 students received Christ.  Great energy from the band and we did a black light drama that was very powerful.  I challenged the students to be Purple People Leaders.

Sunday- we got to hear from Eric Koehler and hear his heart on the local church and how it is the hope of the world.  Eric is a gifted communicator who we believe God has brought to us to lead Fellowship into the next generation.  Excited about what God is doing here and where we are headed.  Below are both videos of Eric introducing his family as well as his talk on Sunday Morning.

FSM Weekend in Review: Volume 2

Weekend Teaching Series: Week 1 of our new 4-week series “The Family Series”
Sermon Title: What goes on under your roof?

Sermon in a Sentence:
God Cares more about your family than you do.
Scripture: Ephesians 6, Exodus 20
Weekend Scale of Difficulty: 6 out of 10. We had 2 new songs.  A Nickelback song, we did an artistic element with an easel, 2 Videos and group announcements.
Attendance: Down 21% from last month, up 197% from same weekend last year
Service Length: 85 minutes
Understandable Message: This message started with an alarm clock going off throughout the whole message.  The end idea on that is we have a conditioned response towards our parents like we do every morning with the snooze button.  We shared how God can heal families and He cares more about their families than they do. We gave them some actions steps to improve communication with parents and siblings.  There was a lot of laughter but there was also a challenge to honor the way that God has called us to honor.

Volunteer/Student Involvement: We had students and leaders greeting and all of our video/audio and lighting was done by Fellowship staff members.  Confidence comes in knowing you have the best possible team behind what your doing.

Element of Fun/Positive Environment: Group announcements was entertaining.  We had students/leaders coming up and write out pains on a easel and during the final song we had two volunteers come up and write the name of Jesus in red to cover all their pains, very symbolic.  Announced that Kyle was leaving May 2nd after his internship and it was a fun approach.

Music Playlist: take it all, let the praises ring, all because of Jesus, lift high, when our hearts sing, overcome

Favorite Moment: I think my favorite moment was the end song and watching the students with tears in their raising their hands to worship their God freely.

Next up: Sexed…a 4 week series on what God says about sex
